- Removed motherboard monitoring stuff, goes into SysTool
- Removed HDD AAM stuff, goes into SysTool
- Added Geometry Instancing option
- Removed annoying logging message from log file

EDIT - All seems well, may I ask what Geometry Instancing actually does, and would it be worthwhile to enable it?

I noticed that you can do a dump of your current bios (which has been in many versions of ATITool, I know, I know), would it be possible to change the bios' default core and memory clock, as I'm sure that you can do this with the memory timings.

Just downloaded it. No problems with install.
Is it not possible for you to add a detection that determines which drivers are installed, version, and type (control panel etc), and whether they are signed or not.

I asked before on B7, is there ever a chance i'll be able to use an ATI card running through a Nforce chipset? or is this supported and the problem on my end? opens fine, but get "No ATI card was detected". Rosewill X800XL, catalyst 5.4, nForce Pro 2200 and 2050 (Tyan K8WE)

When I tried to install .24b8 the installer gave me a stop error, so I unstalled (after rebooting - atitool ran fine, but i figgured take no chances). I had it on log mode, so i was able to capture that above. Uninstalled, got nothing, and re-installed, and got something essentally the same:

hey wizzard, dunno bout that registry key stuff, so im a not do it

this release is fine tho, its actually better then the last version, higher overclock on core for me but slightly lower in memory, which gets rid of artifacts. so now im 492 core /1.08 ghz memory.

oh ahh, find max core works great , but find max memory stops at like half the potential overclock, i have to go to artifact scanning and press use old scanning method and then find max memory works better.

Is there anyway to prevent lock ups in find max options, since it can be very annoying when trying to find max core on a x800 pro which shows no artifacts yet locks up when clock is very high.

The full sandra report was 3.5MB, so I cut out the video sections. re: the "video bios" section at the bottom of the everest report, there is no external power connector so i'm rather confused. There is a lot regarding bus, so I included the entire report.

re: other tweaking tools, I've tried Entech Taiwan's "powerstrip" - Actually, I tried it first as this is what I used with my Geforce3 - and it doesn't detect the card at all. I understand you probabily have a lot more important things to be doing than fixing a problem that might only ever appily to a few people, but I thank you for trying.

I d like to know how the fan control works on the X800XT PE because i cant get the fan speed on everest, and if there is no harm in changing fan speeds!

hmm .. it says the card is living on bus #81 .. could you check the pci devices/busses listing of both sandra and everest and see if that is correct? afaik atitool is only checking the first 80 busses in the system for devices

Nice W!zzard, I haven't written here before but I just want to let you know about a bug that was in the PREVIOUS version b7. We are three guys with the same setup and using a X850XT and we did get temp readouts of 0C sometimes on both tempsensors. That would come and go and you could do nothing about it.
I will test the b8 and let you know if it is still there.

ok, in everest when i exand "display" and try to select either PCI/AGP video or GPU, the right window is empty. Under sandra, I go into the PCI(e), AGP, cardbus information. there are two PCIe busses, from the two nforce chipsets on the motherboard. The first PCIe bus is labeled "PCIe Bus 2 (3/1x PCIClk)", and shows no devices. The second bus is labaled "PCIe Bus 129 (3/1x PCICLk)", with the X800 listed. under "Device ID", the card is bus 81, device 0, function 0.

If it would help any, I can try moving the X800 to my other PCIe slot, but I don't want to do this perminantly as I have a SCSI card which sits inbetween the two PCIe slots which would block airflow. I have no idea how easy it would be for you to reach up to bus #81 as this level of programming is way over my head, but it seems like that would fix the problem.

I am new here and I just want to say thank you for this great tool and supporting the X800XL. I version .23 the fan was so loud and annoying and now with .24 8 beta I can control the fan and the temp. This is so awesome. Keep up the good work. :D

This version provides the correct number of pipelines and allows access to the tempature and fan control. The other verison 0.23 did not. However, when I click on the memory button it locks up showing nothing but squares, lines, ect instead of written text. I had to Ctrl-Alt-Del 3 times using end tree process in order to unlock it from my desktop. What's going on?

Anyone had this happen? I went for max mem, got up to 236 from 202, when artifacts started happening. Fair enough, but then, some 12 mins later, another popped up. And it stuck. Plunk, Plunk... (I had a sound for artifacts...) When it reached 201, I aborted. :)
