Mysterious R600 demo looks like Call of Juarez

A few days ago we reported (http://www.techpowerup.com/?29120) about a demo that shows the special DirectX 10 effects the R600 will support. Now I came across a forums entry at Beyond 3D (http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?p=967199#post967199) which says this demo would look like Call of Juarez, a Western-themed first-person shooter from the Polish game developer Techland (http://www.techland.pl). Just out of pure curiosity I looked for some reference material and it turns out to be a correct statement. Just look at the attached screenshots from IGN PC (http://pc.ign.com/) the wooden hut in Fudzillas shot (first picture) looks exactly like the one in the IGN PC shot (second picture). The fence in the tech demo looks exactly like the fence in the other IGN PC screeny. Though the lighting and the details on the stones in front and the steep hill on the far side look different because these are the enhancements made in order to show the beef-up using the DX10 routines. After all, if this is a tech demo it's made of content out of Call of Juarez.

The screenshot from Fudzilla probably is from the updated version of CoJ. A directx10 patch will come out and PROBABLY this game will be bundled with the X(HD)2900.

so those 3 pics are dx10 pics from the patch for call of juarez? so if i own a dx10 card. windows vista and already own call of juarez i can get the patch and play it in dx10 rather than dx 9 ? ?? ? ?

No only the first screenshot is from the DX10 version. And the patch will be free i guess.. would be really weird if not.

IF it's a simple patch and not a tech demo based on the games content - then there very likely won't be a patch at all.

Remember that the peeps that hang out on TPU are smart enough to know these model numbers inside out. But for the mainstream, that is WAY TOO CONFUSING.

Most of these models wont be sold at local retailers though (such as future shop). They will just pick out a few at different categorys.

u would need a powerfull gpu to play it as similarity with DX10 gpu...but u'll still miss the eye candy..

Will an ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512mb DDR2 play it? I hate it when games are post poned. Like basicly every zelda game(best series ever). Along with basicly all other nintendo games(best game maker ever).
