Hey out there,

I'm in need of some advice. I'm shopping around at the moment to buy 2gb of DDR2 RAM.

First here's my m/b and cpu:

ASRock 775 Dual-VSTA: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/377/2/
Core 2 Duo E6400 @2.13 GHz http://tinyurl.com/yqcaw3

From that information, i'm trying to find out the optimum RAM to work with those 2 to the best of its ability, although no overclocking will be done.

What DDR2 speed should i go for etc.

Thanks for the help.

well, id go for 667 mhz, in case you really have to oc later on. but, i think that 553 mhz would actually be right in line with your cpu fsb, because 553 mhz in dual channel would be equivilant of 1066 in single lane, if im wrong please correct me. try and get lower latency memory, since you're stuck with those two speeds anyways. oh and 2 gb of memory is nice :)

if you're not overclocking i think it'll be fine. i would take other people's advice also though, i don't know alot about memory, just that should match your fsb.
