Hello everybody how are you. I love this forum! Im not alone in my quest to build a bad ass PC.

So basically I have been playing with computers since the VIC20. here is my idea of a good fast and reliable rig.

CoolerMaster Case
Quad Core 2.4Ghz :rockout:
Dual 8800GTS SLI :rockout:
4GB ozz sli compliant ram.
DELL 30 INCH DISPLAY :rockout:
SLI 680 I Motherboard.
QTY4 X 74GB Western Digital 10KRPM HD [C DRIVE][MOTHERBOARD RAID 0] :D
QTY2 X 250GB WesterDigital Data Drives [D DRIVE] [MOTHERBOARD RAID 0]
QTY 1 X 750GB Backup Drive

Now I will try and place a picture or two:

http://lh3.google.com/image/matina.nick/RiW-hN9xV-I/AAAAAAAABQA/bqzBVGs8r9Q/Picture%203.jpg?imgmax=1024
http://lh5.google.com/image/matina.nick/RiXANt9xWCI/AAAAAAAABQg/vks-PaCfF3k/Picture%201.jpg?imgmax=1024

Yes yes, I know its an UTTER MESS!!!! I just got done making it boot for the first time. I can only get it to recognize one 8800. I turned off all overclocking and know the ram is sli certified and set to such in the mother board, with stock factory 680i mother board settings.

why cant i get sli to work?

Holy crap dude, all out! 7 HDD's?! Do you own a garden shed sized PSU for that thing?

Can't get SLI to work:
nVidia software?
Drivers?
Interconnect bridge?
Motherboard bios updated?

Never used SLI myself hopefully some other rich guy can tell you what's up.:toast:

motherboard bios definitely not updated. no idea how.

Go to the motherboard company's web site under support and it should tell you there. The latest drivers should get SLI up and running, plus it's gonna let you OC you quad-core better.

Just out of curiousity why didnt you get an 8800GTX instead of 2 8800GTS.
The GTX would of have outperformed the 2 8800GTS.

Every sucessful working rig with 2 X 8800 in SLI has a PSU with between 800 and 1000 watts. Thats what you need to get the amperage per 12v rail for those cards. The wattage of the PSU is not as important as the Amperage on the 12v rails. High demand CPU's with 8800's need rails with at least 30 amps.(24-26 minimum for single card, lower end CPU).

I bet that rig cost @ least $5500.........am i right? i built (just for fun) on newegg a quad core dual 8800gtx 2x150gb raptor x drives, 2x 500gb, 4gb ram, 24" monitor, x-fi pro sound, CM stacker 830, and it was just over $6000
