hey guys i'm planning to update my mobo and cpu to intel core duo, but at the same time i'm not gonna update my agp videocard and my 3 slot of ddr 1 ram. money is tight right now everybody tells me to just upgrade everything, i wish i can but again money is tight.

i'm running a 3000+ amd 64 with asus k8v se deluxe as a mobo
1 gig stick ram and 2 512 stick ram
7600 gs nivida video card

i'm just trying to look for a mobo that can support core duo but at the same time have agp/3 slots of ddr1.

thanks in advance

Something like the ASRock 775Dual-VSTA or the ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA would suit your needs...

they support core 2 duo with both ddr2 and ddr1.... so you can use your current memory but keep the future option of upgrading to ddr2

they also have both agp and a pci-e x16 socket so future support for a graphics upgrade when you want would also be possible :)

EDIT: They only supports 2 sticks of each type of memory... I don't know of any motherboards that support 3 sticks of ddr1 with a core2

a friend of mine uses one with some old hardware in another rig and it works well...

its not a fully featured as some other motherboards and isn't the best overclocker but for the flexibility of hardware you can use with it and its low price you can't fault it...

to my knowledge asrock are the only company who offer motherboards that can support what you need
