I have a Dell Dimension 9100, i boughts a new sapphire radeon x1950 pro to hav a better gaming experience but then i realised i needed a larger Power supply so i bought a http://www.enermax.com/english/product_Display1.asp?PrID=4 and installed it slowly and painfully, i wasnt really sure what i was doing but in the end i thought i had it installed but there was one thing i was not sure about. The MAIN motherboard connection wires. I have a pentium 4 processor so i have the 24 pin slot and the pin supplied with the psu is 20 pin but this is not very clear on the websites ive looked at, which ones do i use? The motherboard pins ie the really important ones, which ones do i plug in because my old PSU had a 24pin but the newpower supply came with a 20 + a 4 pin one labelled with 12v and 2 others labelled "not for cpu" but both 4 pins and 2 of those fit into the slot but the one labelled not for cpu fits and the other does not because the plastic parts do not match up on the edges, it would fit on its own but not with the 20 pin one in as well.

i hope that wasnt too illegible! Thanks for any help in advance!

hey don't stress bro that is easy.. your psu has a 20 pin connector but it will also have a small 4 pin connector which can join onto it, there fore making it 24 pin. You will also have to fit another one of the 4 pins to a connector on the other side of your cpu. I reckon the one labelled not for cpu is the one which should plug into your motherboard next to the 20 pin and then plug one of the other ones into the board on other side of cpu...

Give that a go
