Mod CP shows two current temp-bans in effect. The first one is for Russianboy, because he tried to spam-kill the server. That one ends in six hours. The second one I just activated. It's for SpoonMuffin, because he didn't listen when I told him to stop arguing, and he doesn't have the best track record (do a post search, you'll see what I mean).

Perhaps there are some other bans I cannot see?

see here we go fine Paulieg bring up a subject that pissed off about half the community got like a total of 4 ppl banned and rearanged the whole staff totum pole but hey you asked.....so I solaris made a post that asked ASKED if we could move all the stickies to the wiki to promote use of it. well one of the mods was like great idea and started moving them well alec checks in about to give the ok and he sees some of his gone he thought they were deleted and got a lil pissed than he reversed his decision about it because in the wiki ppl can edit your stuff but he was still pretty angry cause he was under the impression his stuff was gone so b4 we could tell him nothing was gone and we can lock his stuff he said some bad things Djbbenn caught it and temp banned him so then he came back using other accounts and started threatening to kill members and said some crap about djbbenn but by this point all the members were in on it cause it was all public ppl started tweaking who only got half the story and started screaming power abuse forcing w1zz to start making choices and by this time a thread titled like probs or something was up all the mods jumped in and started locking closing and telling ppl it was done but ppl were pissed so w1zz started rearranging and locking control and status tpu basicaly was a mess for like 2 weeks.

I dont see how people get banned, its easy to have fun here without causing trouble. I get along with just about everyone, its fun to catch up with people halfway around the world and see what life is like and how similar people are despite vast distances, different culture etc

A little different type of forum, but the death was caused by over zealous mods who kept kicking and banning those who came to have fun. That was supposed to be the whole idea. I was promoted close to end of our hayday. But it was, has been and still is fun.


Basic idea, this is the net, and to some rules are made to be broken. But perhaps keep a few threads where they are "clean" of flaming, and crap. Leave the general discussion to elsewhere. Mod most of the threads lightly, let users use the ignore function. And perhaps a place to let it go, everything allowed (minus adult oriented material perhaps).

Only ONCE when they repaved it last year, I average ~110-130 most of the time. Its a long straight highway with exits every ~15 miles. Pretty safe IMO.

Actually I don't find the forums that bad at all. I enjoy using them and have found them an endless source of help and info. So there's the odd spat that clears up after an hour or two, sooooo what! It doesn't matter, I think people get toow worried over the forums, my only worry is that people are getting banned for not enough of a reason. So they're being a pain in the ass, they'll cool off relatively soon. Banning (even temp) should only be for serious offences, otherwise mods should ask them to calm down and if necessary make a new post taking back what they'd said.
