I can't wait i don't have any thing than a onboard video card getting about 5fps or 28fps with low settings that is in NFSU2
go for a cheap x1950gt (OC to a pro and further) ...its cost around 110 bucks after MIR...then save the rest until prices drop and more cards come out.

I vote X1950GT or if you can find it for little difference 1950Pro, then slap a VF900 on it. Doing that will make it worth a reasonable amount even when the ATi DX10 parts come out,
Please out of the 2 cards tell me what one will be better.
as you said, you aint going towards vista and dx10, so get the 1950xt...

The Sapphire X1950XT is going for $179.00 right now! If the new stuff wasn't coming out in 2 weeks I'd pick that right up.:D

After the R600s hit the market? Probably. I wouldn't touch a sapphire X1950XT with a 10 foot pole and someone else's arms holding the pole. I had two of them...both died. Every ATI lover on the forum blamed every other part of my computer for their untimely deaths...but the same system has been kind to my 8800GTS.

Didn't hurt the ATI card I had sitting in it while I waited for the X1950XT to come back off of RMA. It is the devil, but the X1950XTs killed themselves.

This X1900GT is pretty much on par with the X1950Pro if you don't go CF.

the 1950gt is cheaper after rebate than the 1900gt.
the 1950gt is cheaper after rebate than the 1900gt.
though the 1900gt is a tad faster than the 1950gt, but it cannot do crossfire.

Well, I don't know if you bought your new card already but this one looks pretty nice.
x1950xt for $179.99 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102067)
Plus its crossfire ready so if you ever decide to pick up a crossfire mobo you can crossfire and get r600 performance(maybe).

Meh, I checked some benches and the XTX 256mb beats PRO 512mb, and the XT can be easily overclocked to XTX speed, so why not, you know?

Why wait for ATI to come out to buy an nVidia card? Why not buy the new ATI card if you're waiting for it to come out?
