Zalmann makes some of their coolers with LED's in em. what socket are you aiming for?

zalman 9700 is an awesome cooler! it cooled my pentium D 945 (95 watts i believe) to around 23c and 32c full load with CPU burn in running twice (to activate both cores)
A good cheap one for AMD is the Arctic-Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, lot of people say it cools well

How are those Pentium's when it comes to cooling? My Athlon 3500+ runs at like 29C idle and 30-31 heavy load. This is all off my Thermal take blue orb II.

Do you know if Zalmann makes a vertical CPU fan?

Thermalright is the best, and you can choose the color of the led fan :)

You really think that passive cooling (fanless) heatsink works well?

Hmm pretty cool if you are into quiet systems. I would just put fans on it any way:laugh: What about over clocking on a passive system?

Ive seen those "Peltier Coolers" before, heard great things about em, any one wanna fill me in about how they work?

They have a Thermoelectric plate attached to them. In simple terms, a peltier (or TEC as it's sometimes called) is basically 2 disimilar metals fused together, and when you apply voltage to them a certain way, one side gets hot and the other gets cold. On the Ultra. the cold side goes on the cpu, and the hot side gets cooled by heatpipes and the heatsink. It's all controlled by the bay accessory that they give you, to ensure that the pelt doesn't get below ambient temps, and cause condensation.

yeah the ultra cooler works damn well.
i have a xp-90 from thermalright and couldnt be more pleased with it.

well now Peltier sounds amazing. The only thing, would there be a way to make it be able to run below ambient and not condensate, or not let it damage you system?
all i can rilly tell u is the best ones youlve never hered of an cant buy
for real
i rilly like [nmb] fans 90 persent of them ar built well an run fast enuf that evin running them on 5 volts makes a great case fan
now modding fans is something i have allmost mastered [an your saying what mod a fan?]
yes some fans like car moters have [govaners/temp sencers] that can be over ridden an the fan will then put all the power it can to the blade
with nmb fans most of the time i just short the temp meter on the to set ti to full
now allso intel stock fans can be modded but its a crazy hard job
if only doen it 2x with theas its a govaner chip an i actuly had to melt the moter pice away from the plastic then u have the fan plugged in an start shortin pins on this govaner chip wich has 10-20 pins just quickly short the pins of the chip 2 by 2 [dont hold it for long] if u hear the fan speed kick up u got 1 solder them together an look for more i found 2 spots both times then u carefully melt the moter back to the plastic base an wamo u got a super fan
i allso did this with my [cooler master jet] takeing it from 3300rpm to 4300rpm it wines nice now to when u get it going
once your doen the intel stock 2600rpm fan [from a 2.8gh 1mb cash s478 cpu] now does 6200rpm lmao its nosie screamin but wow does it cool well [kev(one guys comp i built) uses speed fan to bring it down to a 4500rpm hum much better]
[pros]
fans go faster an move alot more air
at full ther definitly loud enuf to hear if it stops for some reson lol
works awsome with a program like speed fan
cons
alot of work [speshaly the intel fans cus the base does not come apart]
NOSIE
may over load mobo fan port[dipends on fan size]
i have some pics for u guys yeah the one blower is a lil over board but u guta admit yould have fun trying it since it has enuf power to allmost blow me over an im 164lbs[note thows pics ar like 6 years old]
u can allso seal the hole socket with [dielectric tune up grease]did my hole s939 socket with that an some foam an its bin fin ever time i take my chiller down to -20 for some oc.ing fun
i packed the socket with greas put some foam on packes the creases with gease put the cpu in an then more grease an a nuther pad an more grease[i dident leave any die-grease on the cpu top] an used some [artic silver 5] before my block went on [used maby 1/6 of my 85g tube $4 can at any crapy tire an most auto stores
i want a pelt one day to put under the chiller i have on my cpu hehehe

well now Peltier sounds amazing. The only thing, would there be a way to make it be able to run below ambient and not condensate, or not let it damage you system? You can make it go below ambient by direct wiring the pelt to a power source of it's rated voltage(usually 5v or 12v), instead of the control box. The only way to run below ambient and not cause condensation, is to manually keep track of your room's Dew Point, and manually adjust the voltage of the Tec to keep it above that point(perhaps using a high quality potentiometer). Otherwise, you can just water proof your cpu socket and seal it with neoprene and other such things.
sorry bout all that
all i seen was best cpu fan
dident get the led part an all allthow u could just add some dont look near as cool as clear fans thow
only thing i find is pritty fans ar ushawaly under proformers
but a pelt would fix that

well pelt. Is amazing but way to exspensive. Just go with a nice Zalmann and your set.
i did see a 200wat pelt on tiger direct before for like 40 bucks

Anyone heard anything about those Thermaltake V1's? The one that looks like a Chineese fan? I've heard some reviews that they are just as good as the Zalman 9700's.
