Hello again.
I just purchased an LCD monitor, 19" wide screen. Its the AOC 19LVWk.
I have problems booting using the DVI. All I get is a messed up screen on start up.
It boots fine in regular analog mode.

I tried downloading monitor drivers from AOC and there were no drivers for it.
My video card is a Sapphire x850XT agp with 7.4 catalyst drivers.
Resolution is 1440x900 desktop and 1024x768 3d mode.

I have all current drivers for my system.
Any help is appreciated.

Your monitor is probablly messed up. I had the same problem once. Have you tried playing games with it yet? The screen messed up for me with those too.

Well I have been playing games with it, and in analog it is just fine.
If I switch it to DVI when in windows, it is just fine, even in games.
When I get out of games, it will mess up.

Thank you.

its not the monitor don't return it
its the x800 series anything below the radeon 1xxx series has issues with dvi

same reason why you see no windows loading screen or bios when its hooked up to dvi just use teh analog unless you plan on getting a new gfx card

let me guess also when you start windows you have to turn the monitor off and on to get rid of the display corruption and also to fix it when you exit a game

Well, I get the bios and windows start screen, but when I get to the log on screen, it messes up. I think it is a driver issue.
It messes up after the game is switched off. I have to press the power button to get it to boot down safely.

I had it working for a bit till I installed catalyst drivers. mabie that is the issue?

i never experienced one of these problems....

@paul: try checking "alternate dvi operational mode" in ATI CCC / ControlPanel... i´ve had random black screens while gaming, and that fixed it... good luck :toast:

to correct my previous post that only happens on cards that dont have dual dvi like my x850 that had a dvi and vga port it would only display bios and anything pre windows through the vga output did the same on my friends x800pro
