Yup, you have to use the -f command to force overwrite. :)

It doesent work!I used atiflash and flasrom (2.40).
Atiflash :
Command:atiflash -p 0 this.rom -f
writes this message:
Serial rom
Bios device id = 0x4148
Asic device id = 0x4148
Flash type = ST M25P05
ERROR : Data not erased
thats with Atiflash.
Flashrom:
Command : -p 0 this.rom -f
writes this message:
Bios device ID = 0x4148
Asic devive ID = 0x4148
Existing memcfg = 0x7580
New memcfg = 0x7580
Existing ssid = 0x4148
New ssid = 0x4148
Existing bios P/N = Radeon 9800 SE vga bios
New bios P/N = Radeon 9800 PRO vga bios
Rom ID = 12flash = ST M25P05/c
ERROR:Block protect not disabled, status=0E
thats with flashrom.
My question is that how can I disable the block protect. What is the block protect?
I even tryed this:I booted from a nother PCI card and tryed to flash my radeon, but the same thing.
I hope this helps someone:
command:flasfrom -i
Adapter bn dn dID asic flash id flashtype romsize
0* 03 00 4148 r300/r350 - - ST M25P05/c 0x10000
If i should try with a nother flashing program pls give me the adress to,not only the program name.(but I have a feeling that even this wouldnt work)
And yes a nother thing...When my vga card is overclocked and I suspend or hybernate, when I resume noting apears on my screen or if it apears there are only dots and lines on my screen. How should i fix this?I tried Atitool,pstrip,atitray...something.

If you havent done the hardmod I dont think you will get much (anything) from flashing it, except higher default clockspeeds.
Why not just use atitool + omega softmodded drivers?

The cool thing about the hard mod is it allows you to set the clock speeds to the 9800 Pro speeds and you don't have to worry about always changing them. You can pull the card and install it in another computer or reboot and it will always stay at PRO speeds.
BUT - Make sure the card will run at those speeds. Test the card over and over before flashing it to avoid possibly destroying the card.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great,thanx!It works!
U solved my problem.I can use suspend and hybernate without having problems.
I apreciate all your effort.
Thank you, all of you.I have a last question. My "old" card was 380/500 now is 400/600(not a big "jump", isn't it? :)).Do I have to buy a better cooler?I dont have any cooler on my memory modules. And on the gpu is a (in my opinion) small cooler(with fan).Is there a big diference? It lives longer with a better cooler?By the way on my 9800 se is an R 360 GPU, I tought that they use R 350, what is the difference?
keep up the good work...

The SE usually is clocked slower both core and memory.
As for cooling, well you are taking it beyond it's normal limits so you are taking a risk. I would run the card and feel the memory modules and see if they get hot. If so, maybe pick up some BGA "COPPER" ramsinks. Also, the stock cooler sucks. I would look for something a bit more powerfull. I'm running a Arctic Cooler VGA Silencer and OCZ BGA Copper Ramsinks on mine. Max overclock: 450/370(740DDR). Stock clock speed: 350/330(660DDR) after the flash to Pro.

R360 cores run faster than a R350 core at the same clockspeed. You'll most likely see a few hundred points increase in 3D Mark 03. Anyway, you really need good cooling for this card. Its pretty hot in operation cause the core is almost running at its full potential and the stock heatsink it pretty puny to cool the card properly. :)
