Has anyone tried to splice the power wires from their Zalman CPU fan (with fanmate) in order to draw power from the PSU instead of the motherboard? I personally think 120mm fan is a lot to ask a mobo to power.
Zalman should offer a molex option to power this beast (ive got the 7700alcu).
It appears there are 6 wires, two black, two red, one yellow and one white. Which two (one black and one red) should I splice to connect to a molex from PSU, while keeping the features of the fanmate and rpm sensor attached to mobo??
