I experienced the same problem. With 0.23 I have on average 280 fps and tweaked to 500/500 I have 310 fps, with 0.24b10 I have tweaked and untweaked a value of 200 fps Oo

Disabling of 3D-Detection didn´t work!
I have disabled the 3D-Detection for starting a benchmark with a manual loaded Profile (max) and ATITool detected 3D and set clocks to the stored Profile (+10%) of disabled detection.

please dont use the fps counter in atitool as benchmark or to compare between versions .. i think it's more important to have better scanning and artifact detection than higher fps in the cube..

any comment on if scanning/artifact detection works better or workse now?

The new beta does not work with my configuration... :(
It cannot find my device, my ATI 9550. It says "video card change detected: startup failure" at every statup (and it doesnt work)...but it it always the same device!
I come back to the beta9 that works well...

hm the scan method is better.
i have had problems while scanning that sometimes it reaches a mem clock out of world or it just downlcoked to zero.
now it finds a stable thing, but before it finds this it shows the hole scanning thing in yellow k?

I get an extra few mhz with this version. 440/560 core and mem, when in beta 9 I would get artifacts at those speeds.

OK, now i've solved the problem!!

Now there's no crash after standby, because i've flashed a new BIOS (ASUS a8n SLI Deluxe 1008^^) In this Version, the S3 Bug is fixed!!

When I run Find Max Mem, it doesn't detect artifacts all the time. It clocked the memory to its max and started throttling down the clock speed, but I was watching it and I could see a yellow pixel every once in awhile during the 'scanning for artifacts' phase, but it wouldn't detect it.

the 'official' stable release .23 didn't have this problem with me.

I tested out Find Max Core and it does the same thing. It will find the max and throttle the clock speed down a bit, but it eventually misses an artifact, so the clock speed doesn't continue going down. I saw the artifacts appear as a yellow pixel on the 'scanning for artifacts' phase.

Did you know that there is a slider under "Artfact Scanning" where you can choose how aggresiv detection will be? Set the slider to his left end and try again.

On my x800xt with AtiTool 0.24b10 the Overdrive Option in the ATI Control Panel (and Center too) is gone everytime i install 0.24b10!
Maybe its a Problem with the Cat 5.4 with AtiTool....

I tried diferent things but it will put the OS to hold whenever I press this button.

I think i may have found a bug ?

I have installed this beta 10 and I am getting
a message about alternate pixel center beeing enabled
on my Ati Radeon 9600 Pro and i have checked that it is off
by going to the advanced display options and set the option off there.

Oh and I am using Omega's Radeon Driver package for Cat v5.4

so is this just an incorrect message or is it On when it says that it is
Off in my graphics card display options page ?

and the Alt Pixel message stopped showing.
But i did click don't remind me and today
with new drivers clicked on renew messages
so i dunno if any of that means much but
maybe the bug i mentioned earlier had something to do
with the 5.4's or Omegas 5.4's ?

after installing the new 5.5's today.

and redoing my refreshrates with refreshforce,

everytime I restart my PC atitool say´s "video card change detected startup profile not loaded" and I can´t change the clock frequencies....but I havent changed anything....I seem to get this with everyversion I tried 0.23,0.24b9,0.24b10. it seems like for one restart works then second doesnt then works than doesnt...and goes on like that :confused:

ok i checked what the ati uninstaller does .. it launches the uninstaller but also removes all registry keys of atitool (cancel does not help). i contacted ati about it, lets see if it get a response

I've always the same problem. After standby mode, all the fan settings are set to default. I'm using the dynamic mode...

The Overdrive Tab in the Cat CCC or CP is gone with 0.24b10 ! With Cat 5.4 and now with 5.5 too! When i uninstall AtiTool it is coming back!

Edit : with 0.23 Overdrive is there.....but not with 0.23 beta 7+

the new Cat 5.5 for x64 installes fine on Win2003 SP1 x64 but has no hardware acceleration anymore. It's simply not possible to enable them. All 3 button ins dxdiag remain disabled. Reinstall, reboot, no luck.

However ATITool 2.4 Beta 10 still freezes the OS when the "Settings" button is pressed. That the same with Beta 7, haven't tested other 2.4 builds.

Back to Cat 5.4 x64 and everything is fine.
Still the Beta 10 freeze bug.
I've now installed the old official 0.23 version and *everything* works fine.

So the 2.4 Beta builds seem to have introduced something that x64 dislikes.

BTW, nothing has de-installed ATITool when I installed CAT 5.5 in x64 and x32.

I love this tool.
ATI should provide something similar (perhaps without the over clocking support). Is it possible to set a temperature threshold, above which the card shuts down? If not, that would be a great feature as I've had trouble in the past with the GPU fan quitting and the temperature consequently spiraling to dangerous levels.
Anyway, great work.
