Anybody else tried to fit an Arctic 3 to a 9800SE, 'cos I cant. The TV adapter gets in the way.

Do you have to hack away at the heat sink and cooler ducting?.. Seems a waste of time.

My 9800 failed to handle a Flight Sim. Found the dinky cooler fan wafting in the breeze as the goo had dried up on the CPU and loosened the lot.

Anybody got a suggestion for a cooler assembly that will fit an ATI 9800SE?
Or have I bought a pup?
An expensive pup!

If you have good airflow around your video card I'd go for a Zalman vf700-cu, if you don't I'd go for an ATI Silencer.

I tried a Zalman vf700-cu. No good.
Got my money back though. Perhaps it was the wrong Zalman.
I can't remember.

Hmm, works great for me. I guess try out an Arctic Silencer then?

It says on Zalman's site that it fits all of the 9xxx series. Maybe I'm missing something though.

The ati silencer 1 fits onto 9800se, with a few small mods. Works like a god, ive tried it several times and all I had to do was cut some holes in the plastic cover, for the capacitators that were in the way. I suppose you have the AIW version, and the silencer 1 is quite slim so I think it'll fit if you cut away a little part of the "blowhole"-like thing.
