i would say core overclocked too high or overheating

If it's overclocked put it back at stock speed, obviously you don't know anything about that so I doubt it is.
For the overheating, first check your temps using atitool or systool. If they are too high check if the heatsink is connected decently.

hm or just think of a driver prob my css looks same if i go into windows while loading and come back aftwerwards like this?

is your agp voltage in your bios default? that would heat it up fast. assuming you/somebody changed it.
what catalyst driver version do you have? 5.3? older? are you using the drivers from the cd you got with the card? or non Ati* drivers?
*official Ati drivers, that is.

Yeah dude, that happens to me all the time. It's heating from overclocking for me, but my dad's computer has a 9600XT 256mb too, and for some reason those things run HOT. I used ATITool and it actually underclocked the card, so maybe you should underclock it. If your case is hot or your room is hotter than it was, that's probably it because the 9600's just run too high for most people
