Bump. Oh yea heard from a friend saying the E6520 will be bottlenecking the 2 2900XT in crossfire. True? O.o

I think your going to have to go with a gamextreme psu, I wonder if a 700watt one would due.. not to sure if the 850watt gamextreme by ocz is really all that good I hear bad things about their bigger ones, eg the 1000watt.. buddy got 2 in a row that sucked and died within a month.

But with your budget I think that you'll only have like 150sgd left over for psu at most.

Thats going to be a very nice rig but hopefully you can find a way to get a bit more $$ for a better psu that will let you OC all your components

Yes a 6520 will definately bottleneck probably even one 2900. You may want to wait to see what Penryn does before you get crossfire 2900's and shit

Not even the E6800 will keep up with it?

the e6700 OC'd will prob keep up with 2x2900xt's. Perynn is due out in July I believe.

ohwell Im sure you'll be ok with the 6520/2900xt just oc the cpu to 3.4ghz to make sure theres no bottleneck.

Get a quad core with those monster video cards.

Check power supply with:

Someone else posted that today, fun to play with

LOL best I can tell calc says 771watts for your system in CF w/a quad core and mild overclock

711w w/ CF, and mild OC

578watts as you have it ( i added fans, hdd's (2), and a pci card)

518 w/no overclock

YIKES

Everything seems to be fine... if you can wait, wait for the 45nm core2's to come out (and possibly even until the 2900xt gets a die shrink). If you're impatient like me, get it now

Everything looks great. Im not sure when 45nm chips will be out, if its in July than it would be worth it to invest/put some extra money into getting one.. otherwise great system, you just need to add a good cpu cooler so you can oc that 6420 to like 3.4-3.6ghz... for when you get a second xt.

Thermaltake V1?

for cpu cooling thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme is the best you will ever find, to my knowledge

Chewy

ther ultra and the v1 are both in the same price range, Im not sure about v1 performance but if your not going for a windowed case get the ultra for sure... even though it does not match the mobo as good as the v1.

check some reviews see where the v1 stands vrs the Ultra extreme 120.

Hey Agility, wait for HD2600 and crossfire them. They run cool and don't even need a power connector. Overclock them!!

Agility

With that 128bit memory interface i don't see it going that far....and the DDR4 is a waste...

Yeah, but it runs 60C load with the stock cooler. That screams "OC ME!!" in my ear.

I did get the 2900XT GDDR4 then. Wouldn't it be better? o.o

Take a look at the Enzotech Ultra-X cooler. It's the best I've ever owned, and I've had the Zalman 9500 and 9700, AC freezer64 pro, and a TT Big Typhoon.
