View Full Version : is worth upgrading 7600gt??
im in a really tight budget right now, and my GFX is pissing me off...
so heres the question is worth selling my 7600gt and 1 stick of ram to the store
and in return get 7900gs 256,8600gt or MSI 1950PRO 256 ??
im not interested about dx10, so performance wise wich would be better, and would the whole deal be worthwhile????

If you want to go the upgrading route- I'm in the same position. Severe budget but wnating to upgrade. I'm going to go for the X1950GT - then oc to X1950Pro speeds. I think this is best as although the 8600GT is great in synthetic benches it actually is not much of an upgrade to the 7600GT in real games at all. It's just got a DX10 Premium. The X1950GT is the more powerful ,albeit it DX9.0c, card and will allow more modern gaming at 1280 x 1024 with AA and AF. Perfect for your screen size.
yeah ill mostly play on 1280x1024
i edited my previus post to include 1950 pro and those are the only choises i got....

I remmeber that NOT all the GT are downclocked of a PRO. Some GT lacked of *something that a 1950PRO 100% has*. I forgot what it was..

lol smoking too much pot????
well I've narrowed my choicest to two cards:
7900gs wich is a little cheaper, but a good overclocker(just read some reviews..)
1950PRO outperforms 7900gt
wich 1 should i get....:toast::toast:
hmm just to add 1 option would be msi 7900gs 512mb OC lite
