Im thinking of doing one last upgrade to my 939 platform. I have narrowed it to a CPU or disk drive to boot from. So i put to you my options, what would you do?
I have:
4800 x2 (2.4ghz)----->> might get an opteron 185 (2.6ghz)
HDT722525DLA380 (hitachi, 250gig, 8meg buffer, 7200 rpm, sata)----->>> raptor 150
computer is mostly used for video transcoding, occasional gaming.

I'd say neither... both your hard drive and CPU seem good enough already. If you still want to pour money into your computer... I'd have to say CPU as well though :)
neither, what about a new case?

Coming from a Celeron user, The cpu & hdd you have is pretty decent. Like others suggested save some money.

Yep, no reason to make a CPU or HDD upgrade, save your money and buy something else that you need........your PC seems pretty descent to me.

well i have been thinking of the kandalf lcs...or the antec ninehundred.. whats holding me back is that my temperatures are fine.. cpu cores idle at 25'c, and the harddrives at 36-39'c (which isnt exactly cool, but im not worrying about it).
sigh......i will again start a search for a good case.hah
thanks
