8600 Gts

Hey guys, my friend bought an 8600 GTS not too long ago and ive been on gpureview.com and many other sites and im quite dissapointed of the card. I just want to know how much better the 8600 GTS is stock than my 1900 XT... Is it roughly 20 percent faster etc etc. just check this out and tell me because the stats look quite sad on the 8600 part

It just edges the X1900XT in games and synthetics at lower resolutions. If you crank it above 1280x1024, then you loose performance big time.

Thanks a lot i appreciate it. I told him it's a good card and all and he's telling me how much better it is than mine and other stuff lol. But i told him basically the 1900xt is a flagship card and yours is the weaker derivative of an 8800 times a lot. lol. Thanks.. any other comments would be appreciated

8600GTS is *much* slower than X1900XT in gaming (http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/video/display/geforce8600gts_9.html#sect1). Even X1950Pro is faster.
It's considerably slower in general gaming (about -30%) but in some titles it puts out ½ of the FPS X1900XT does.

They'r on par in synthetic benchmarks, though.
