well it was only by chance that i look inside my case about 2 hours ago my mam was makin a fuss cause the pump in my water cooling kit was makin to much noise( vibrations :S). Any way i thought i would just check and see how everything was cause it didnt seem to be makin anymore noise than usual. anyway there was a tiny little wet patch creepin ever sooooooooo slowly towards a molex connector:eek:. so as u do i quickly turned everything off and checked all the connections with only the pump running and it seem that when i put i put me new coolant in at the weekend i have cracked one of the acrilic thread on the pump:banghead:( out take bit) so i just spent the last 2 hours taking my watercolling out of my case and putting back on my zalman which was a pain in the arse:cry:.

anyway i just thought i would tell you guys so that u can all either give me your sympathy( or just have a good laugh:nutkick:)

Ouch, you must of over tightened it, can you not patch it with some silicone?

Garb3

i tightened it by hand then gave a quarter turn with a wrench so next time i'm just usin my hands lol no i didnt clean it since it only have a very weak solution in it before i put the new stuff in and i didnt think that it would matter.and i dont have any silicone and i wouldnt even know what to do with it lol

You can probably get a smaller threaded 'nipple' that you can screw into the hole. Look for them at Farmers supply stores or in the Drip Wattering or bug sprayer section of the hardware store. A drop of silicon Adhesive on the threads first and your back in business.

Just cut off the old conector tube and screw in the new replacement with a dab of glue on the threads. Or go to the hardware store and spend $15 on a water fountain pump.

Is it the acrylic top of the pump thats cracked? Or the filler cap?

Can you not just fill it a little less so the liquid doesnt touch the crack?

I still think a little silicone would sort that out, you know the stuff your dad uses round the bath/shower, etc! About £1 a tube, much cheaper than that pump! Do you know XSPC are based in chester-le-street? Give em a email and they might sell you a pump abit cheaper, they were going to sell me a chipset block then I decided I couldnt wait lol

chestler le street is in the northest inst it lol i think i might have give them a ring. thats if the bath sealant doesnt work like i got loads of that for some strange reason:ohwell:. thanks for the advice:respect:

Yeah its near washington

Put the sealant on the inside, so the water will push up against it once its dried, it will be 100% water tight, it will need a few hours to go off mind, so do it tonight and leave it till tomorrow, well today but you know what I mean lol

Thanks for the thanks :toast:

i know i said i was off to bed but this is weird i just checked my cpu temp and it idleing at 23c and granted i only just arctic silver the other day but my water was idling at 23c today do u think i was not fixing the block on tight enough????

Alcpone

Not to sure mate, if the block was flush and when you were tightening the screws on the bolts in a

top left, bottom right
top right, bottom left

edit that didnt work lol

fashion so it was tightened evenly, maybe the ambients were abit warmer the other day aswel?

Remember water is better for load temps than air!

Garb3

if your ambient temp is about 18/20ºc is fine on both, since they can't go colder than air

I would have of used Quick Set Epoxy Glue its a lot better than the silicon stuff
