If you have a computer, use it to store data. Otherwise, they make great dog chew toys.

Erm, I have so much room for data without the drive it's not even funny. The only thing I can think of is putting drivers for my system if I ever reformat and maybe some stuff for school when I go back, but that's it.

Thin clients are petite crappy computers often used as terminals. However flash disks are great for them, keeps them 100% silent while not relying on PXE.

I'm not sure what PXE is even after looking it up on wiki, but I have no need to make any crappy computers indepentand of hard drives, if that is what you mean...

I probably got this to dump files I need for school on it but even if I stored every project I ever worked on it still would never fill this 4GB drive.

BTW Dan, xeons don't use netburst do they? Are they more powerful than core 2 duos?

they are good if you have a USB slot in your car stereo. Just plug it in and you have a shitload of tunes in your ride. You can just attatch it to your car keys and take it everywhere....

Thats what I would do with it...

Xeons are mostly identical to desktop parts with the difference that they can run in pairs or even more. My previous Prestonias were basically Northwoods for example. Fosters are Willamettes and therefor pieces of shit :) Nocona is identical to Prescott. My current Woodcrests are Conroes though the faster models have a faster bus (1333). Clovertown is Kentsfield, though again with the faster bus. Soon the Xeon MP line will be updated with Core2 variants as well, this will also be the last generation to use a FSB, after that the Xeons will swap to CSI.

Anyway, what interface does the flash card use?

Also, to explain the thin client idea. They're quite basic systems that often have no disks and boot from a piece of flash or over LAN. A 4GB flash drive is ideal for these things, since the system will make 0dB sound (no moving parts) with it and for some office work, browsing and chatting they're great. Also very efficient if you want to safe some power. Nice toys they be.

Or just throw a live linux distro on it, to use with your current computer, or a friends, or the school's, etc., etc.

If you are running VISTA you can use it for "ready boost"

you could use it to store data - like mp3s, videos, etc...

You could send it to me? My best thumb drive is a 256MB Cruzer Mini or whatever. I also have a 128MB Dell from like four years ago.

sell it :P If you have no use for it than just sell it.. or you could use it as a portable data card.. besdt off selling it if you ask me.

Edit: oh I was thinking a sd type card lol, just keep it around for if you need to transfer stuff, like say you go on a trip to visit family you can being some moives with you on it, elc. keep it around so if you install vista and need to install some drivers you can they come in handy.. I had to buy one so I could reflash my video card.
