I signed up for this site all excited about actually being able to have a picture sig. Then I found out they didn't have them and I was disappointed. (The site I used to post at was actually a picture rating site with forums. There were smart people there, but the huge ammount of dumb people made it unbearable.)

Maybe they decided that it clutters the format or the colour scheme? ;)

it adds a lot to the page load times
it is hard to enforce certain image sizes
it looks ugly once users start having red X's in their sig
