System Specs:

ASUS M2R32-MVP
AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800 +
ATI 1650 PRO 512 MB
2 Gigs Corsair DDR2 6400 RAM
CD-RW
IDE HD
500 W Power Supply

Just put this computer together today. When I boot up the computer, the fans run, and the lights on the keyboard flash on and then stay off, and I get nothing on the screen. I have checked all the connections, and everything looks solid. Any advice would be much appreciated, and if you need more info on the computer componants, I will be monitering the replys I get. Thanks in advance for any help, I need it:banghead:

CPU fan plugged in, CPU heatsink with thermal paste properly mounted, ram in proper slots, Did you clear CMOS before first bootup?

Yep, I got the problem solved, forgot to plug in the stupid 4 pin :/ .... now with that problem solved, I have got another now. Every time I start up, the Windows XP bar comes on at the bottom of the screen, it fills up, and then the computer restarts itself. This Hard drive is from a different computer, and I used Acronis to back up the HD, so I reloaded it, but the same thing still happens. Any advice for that one?

The drivers from the old computer probably aren't compatible with the new hardware, unless it just so happens that you are using the same video card and chipset types.

I have done 3 complete re-builds in the last year, Windows XP is on my IDE HDD and not once have I needed to do a complete re-installation, at worste just a repair installation, I am obviously very lucky :D

Obviously Tatty :). A reformat and fresh install would probably be beneficial for you.

Lol your probably right but my benches are still good, no issues but I acknowledge it's the sensible thing to do....I'm just VERY lazy!

I'm running the XP install from my crosshair on this AW9D MAX no probs. However there has been plenty of times a format has been needed and a complete setup done from scratch with some builds I've done. I would start with a format then try installing XP.
