well my video card's giving me some weird blocky looking things and some green dots and the blue arrow in need for speed underground two sometimes looks green, whats up? card is a 9200SE

Sounds like the card's either overheating or dying. I'm assuming the card isn't overclocked? Run ATITool and see if it detects any artifacts at stock clocks.

I renamed this thread as well. Please be sensible with the language ;)

i lost one brand new card yesterday ... i cant take this man.

No worries. IMO it's fine on occasions, but definatly not thread titles.


I really hope it's not the card. Have you tried re-installing fresh drivers? Catalyst 5.8 - 6.10 should work ok.

well ati tool runs and its making occasionally beeps. it also said somethign about softmod drivers

Turn off V-sink, whats your refresh rate set @(mhz)? Whats the temp?

i dont think my card has temp sensors ... refersh rate is 75 hz i think

Yeah, turn that refresh down a bit, your askin a lot out of that 9200.

Depends on the RAMDAC and the res used
350MHz RAMDACs have lower resolution limits and lower bits per pixel, etc etc.
If it's 400MHz RAMDAC, it should be fine at stuff like 1280x1024, 1600x1200, and maybe a bit higher.

i had it at 1600 x 1200 for a week .. its at 1280x1024 now

the green things are back .. witha vengance and some brown lines ... i wonder if this has anythign to do with the fact that the weather has been the hottest it has been for months ...

Possable, most likley the card has reached the end of it's life; it's kinda old and you have been running it hard. The brown lines are a sign its going. Any luck with the 7950?

Yeah, all fuzzy cubes have large, long "Crystals" growing out of them - LOL.
Wow that looks neat, never seen it that bad before. Good sign, the cards not doing so good.
