my MSI MOBO is about 2 months old and other than the 12v sensor sometimes giving false 12v readings of 1.86v on PC Alert 4 once out of about 15 startups everything was working fine. when i get these false volt readings i check the 12v voltage and read 12v on my meter even though PC Alert 4 says it is 1.86v.

i do not overclock and stayed with all the default settings in bios. the case hasn't been opened since the mobo was installed.

i just noticed i no longer get a HDD led light from the mb at all. i plugged a spare led from old case into the mb to see if it was burned out but that one did not work either. i checked for voltage on the hdd led pins and get none. i know the hdd led light was working up till a few days ago and other than no indicator light for hdd use all is well.

should i rma the mobo? will they rma it just for a bad hdd led light?

if the system runs normally maybe you want to keep that mobo, false voltage and other facts of the mobo are a "normally" issue. I suppose PC ALERT is a software, I use PC WIZARD and the program tells me that the CPU's fan is running at 10,000 RPM, WTF??.

Have you already RESET the BIOS???.......try to upgrade to the latest BIOS available, If you already have it, try to roll back and install an older one.

ah ok, sorry for my ignorance. Ok then, and since the BIOS isn't reading correct, It maybe a good idea change that card for a new one, a chip must be malfunctioning and maybe later the problem can becoming worst or maybe not, again, all are FINE if the OS remain intact but anyway you payed for a 100% functional mobo....RECLAIM IT!!!!
