Hola.
Days ago I viewed this two cards and even when they share the same chipset, same clocks, same memory, same interface just they have a little difference:
The Asus card has a 6-pin PCI-E connection power jack, and the HIS model doesn't.
I just wanna know if it exist a performance difference between them since the Asus model is more expensive and with that power jack it comes to my mind that It's more powerfull than the HIS model or at least it brings more stability.
WHAT DO YOU THINK???
Thanx for the possibly replys.
HASTA PRONTO!!!

WTFspanglish!
the one with the external power connector is going to far better under an overclock, all else being equal.

wrong, EVERY SINGLE X1650XT OTHER THAN THE ASUS HAS NO POWER CONNECTOR. have you heard that its the "almighty" 1650xt? no. that power connector is just to provide power to that big ass fan.

i c u ... also one model is passive and one is not.

...and PCI-E power source will handle a stock cooler no problems. I could imagine that the biggest cooler out there will draw somewhere around 1 amper of current

Honestly its very rare for one of those cards to use the PCI-E power, its an indication it may be a high model card, cut down on pipelines - an x1950 modded to a 1650, that kind of thing.
Also i suggest AGAINST the HIS model. I owned the PRO version, and i've had to RMA it three times now, i beleive from overheating (even tho i have a 120mm case fan near it)

HiS has a history of being one of the generaly better overclocking capable video card manufacturers so I'd say your safest bet would be to go with the HiS model. When it comes down to manufacturing quality, HiS is also amoung the top in ATI's camp so you really can't lose going with them.
I personaly went with a stock Sapphire no frills version because I was on quite a tight budget at the time and I was able to score one for roughly $92 shipped, new. Stock clocks on this card are 600Mhz core and 700Mhz memory and without doing any mods and or upgrading the cooling, this card provides a respectable OC of 675Mhz core and 740Mhz memory so I can only imagine what the ASUS or HiS models are capable of!
Anyhow, g'luck with your decission! IMHO, I'd say wait until the HD 2600XTs are available. These are most likely going to be the successor models to the x1650 series and hopefully be around the same price catagory. This is probably the route I'll be going as I don't really need a power hungry, heat producing card like that of the 8800/2900 models in my PC!
