Reuters tells (http://www.reuters.com/audi/newsArticle.jhtml;jsessionid=IHBYDJYJ2TVFWCRBAEKSF FA?type=technologyNews&storyID=8574207) us that Apple might use Intel processors in it's Macintosh in the future. If they will do it at all it's unknown if it's on large scale or if it's x86 based.
Either way it wouldn't be good for IBM's processor division.
More information on this when available...

I read apple is more interested in Intel's Dothan processors than in its desktop siblings, they urgently need to make their powerbook line more powerful and less energy consuming that can currently be achieved with the power pc procs.
I think IBM's processor division will do just fine... They provide the procs for all three major console manufacturers in the upcoming generation, so even if profit margins were to be smaller than what they currently get from apple for providing the PPC procs, they'll sell a ton more procs in the very near future.

Wellf first of all theyre unconfirmed rumours. Second even if it turns out that Apple will buy Intel processors they won't have to be x86, or even for macintosh, perhaps for next gen ipod or some other device.
