According to rumors around the Internet, once famous mainboard maker Epox went out of business and its employees flee to form the new company named Supox. Epox has been struggling to survive for a long time and it is not a big surprise that it is gone now.

The whole mainboard product lineup of Supox (http://www.supox.com.tw/product/home.php) resembles that of Epox (http://www.epox.com/USA/product.asp?class=MB), though, there are some additions too. Therefore, it can be expected that Supox does have ties with Epox, even though it is not completely clear whether the company, which was established back in April now owns manufacturing capacities of Epox, or just holds some intellectual property rights.

It is not exactly clear what happened to Epox and why the company, or its employees, decided to establish Supox.

Their products always seemed to be "budget high end" and were crippled as such...

Perhaps the employees wanted to make a division between low end and high end instead of a constant mix of the two..

Epox boards were great...

Hopefully the quality will follow.

I never had a reliable Epox board so I dont feel like Im missing out. On the other hand, I welcome the new mainboard maker to the market.

The supox website leaves a lot to be desired

Vertical text when viewed in IE7 and missing .swf content in firefox. Plus a contact email address that goes to @epox.cn
