Computer Start Up Help

I need help plz. sometimes i start my computer up it only shows a blank screen and doesnt move on it seems like it does read the hard drive or something and it makes a different noise than when it starts up right....i dont know what to do so can someone help me plz? if u need more info just ask:confused:
