DX 9.0c problems

I rcrntly reinstalled XP and installed all the drivers/updates but i wasn't sure if my DX 9.0c is up to date. I didn't even instal it but CPUZ is telling me that i have it. Anyway, i downloaded this June update package:

However, after i run the file it starts downloading and then the installation suddenly gets interrupted and i get this message: setup couldn't download file try again later or check network connection. I tried many times but still get this message.

Does anyone have any idea why its happening? Is there another DX9 download out there that i could use, perhaps download and install the whole thing again?

if you have any new games just install one of them they will have the latest dx. if not then try downloading on a different computer then put it on a flash drive then install it from there

got no really new games, don'y have a flash drive either. Will a floppy or cd work? Also am i using the right update download?

Try this one instead. It's the Redistributable package.

Thanx Wile E! I thnk it worked this time, instead of downloading the stuff from MS this file just extracted everything into my Program Files Category and then i was able to install it.
