My buddy brought his laptop over the other day and we were trying to get it connected to my wireless network using his wireless card. The notebook has Win2000 on it, SP4, and all currently available updates. I've got a 54mbps Linksys wireless router, and am using a MAC address filter and WPA-PSIK encryption with a shared key.
We are able to connect to the network, and even access the router via the card, but not any websites. After brining up a CMD and doing "ipconfig /all" I can see it has aquired the IP address, gateway, etc, but no DNS servers. I tried entering the addresses manually, and they came up doing another "ipconfig /all".... but still no web access.
So at this point, we're connected to the network, have IP address, gateway address, DNS server addresses, but cannot access any websites.
Any thoughts? (serious ideas only please [/peanut_gallery]) :)
