When I Press the power button on my computer I see nothing on my monitor and don't hear the post 'beep'. I guess there is no signal going to my monitor. I started experiencing this problem 2 days ago.

I've tried:
re-seating the graphics card
unplugging/plugging in all my components
leaving non-essential devices unplugged
removing cmos and changing jumper for 10 seconds

My setup is:
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz 'Oced to 2.2ghz
Memory: G.SKILL Value Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel
Hard Drive: Maxtor Maxline III 250gb Sata 3gb/s and WD 320gb Sata 3gb/s
Video Card: eVGA Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
Monitor: SAMSUNG 940b-Black 19" 8ms LCD Monitor
Sound Card: Creative Audigy 2zs
Operating System:
Ms Windows Xp w/ Sp2
Microsoft Windows Vista Business x64

My computer has been working so-so for about 2 weeks but I haven't had much time to work on it but now this problem is major. Thank you in advance for your help! :)

CHeck your mobo book. It should tell you something. For MSI its thier USB with 4-LED. For gigabyte it's the Harddrive LED. What's your mobo brand? It should be stated.

Try removing and reseating RAM. If problem still there - then try one stick of RAM at a time to see if one is bad or not. Run Memory test. Open up error log and look for results on bootup.

wow, i guess then every manual that comes with motherboards saying that all it takes is 3-5 seconds is lying to us.

if it takes more than 5 seconds you have a bad motherboard, all you are doing is discharging the tiny amount of voltage that keeps the momory of the bois settings. this is done by shorting out the battery across the pins with jumper so any more than 5 seconds only drains the battery for no reason and accomplishes nothing. personally i remove the battery and dont bother with the jumper so the battery isn't being drained and i avoid having to read the tiny writing on those pins, that is PITA.

anyway this is about fixing your problem not debating bois reset times.

you didnt say anything about voltages, have you tested the power supply voltages?

i would assume all your fans are running or you would have mentioned if they were not. also when was the last time you blew the dust out of your monitor?

Shoot forgot the motherboard:
ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard

I'm sorry maybe I didn't state my problem clear enough.. When I press the power button my case, I don't see anything on my monitor (no bios just a blank screen). My power led turns on on my case, my cpu fan, video card fan, and all case fans turn on. When I look inside my case I see the little green light on my motherboard is on.

I have installed each stick of ram separately and tried to boot but still have the same problem.

Thx for the responses :)

It stats on my mobo manual which i don't wanna say but it's a later generation then yours :shadedshu

Do you have another Mobo that supports DDR2 and PCI-E? If you do you could try switching parts to test each of them. It also sounds like you do not have enough PSU to power your system up. What PSU are you using?

I have never blown the dust out of my monitor and I have had this setup since December 05.

I will try to test the voltages and keep you posted.

My psu is a: PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 510-SLI ATX12V 510W Power Supply - Retail

My motherboard now is only supports DDR and I really don't have another computer that I can swap parts or really any friends that have a newish computer.

A couple of issues; If you can get into BIOS Disable the onboards sound(if not allready done) and also Disable the Lan 2 adapter. Update Motherboard drivers from Nvidea.
See if you can get the HDD into another rig and test HDD.

I see nothing at any point on my monitor, just a black screen.

check the power plug on the monitor, see if it got loose.

im talking about the end into the monitor itself, i doubt thats it but worth checking.

having no post beep is not good, take all your ram out and see if you get beep then.

if it doesnt beep with no ram installed you may have a bad board.

follow this guide to find where you have a problem.

check you monitor cable for breaks/cuts and check the dvi/vga connection on the cable and the card itself to see if the connections are damaged or not fully inserted.

I've narrowed my problems to 2 components, the motherboard and the graphics card (I think its more the motherboard). I have contacted Asus and eVga and both have sent me an RMA number so I will send these items back tomorrow. Thank you very much for all your suggestions/responses. I will post the outcome when I have installed the new items.
