gawd i want that thing.. lol :banghead:
HAHA,
so they drop the meridian do to limited cmedia chips, and gone with creative. Snap* Snap*
People bought auzentech product because they had everything except creative chips, and now they joined them.
But the card does look sweet. With better circuit lay out and caps, it will (hopefully) out perform creative made cards.

This was reported on awhile back, about Auzentech and Creative making a card. The cool thing is, the X-Fi chip offers better sound quality and gaming performance. Also, Auzentech, with the Cmedia oxygen chip has blended the two perfectly together. I might be looking for this to add to my PC very soon.

Why buy a Auzentech card that uses a Creative chip ? What could Auzentech could possibly offer more than the company which created the chip ?

Better quality components and better quality control.

Good sound cards? Yes, not even the tiniest bit of doubt.

Its like buying a Toyota with an VW engine.....I doubt they would know more about it than VW....So i think ill stick with Creative....At least now we know that Creative infact HAS the best technology when it comes to soundcards...Even Auzentech admits it by making their own X-Fi card.

i just thought it was funny how everyone said auzentech were better than the xfi,now they are using the x-fi spu on there card.lmfao.
the creative spu is the best there is with no doubt.i have an extreme music btw.
whats the deal with the extreme gamer card too.is it better than the extreme music? or it it jus a cut down extreme music, coz it is so small.

(Caps, mosfets, etc., etc.) Look at Trodas's post on recapping a X-Fi, to get what I mean. You won't have that issue with Auzentech.

Perhaps no but i doubt that Creative wont keep something up their sleeve when it comes to the X-Fi chip just to keep the 1st place.

IIRC Auzentech was doing the driver handywork too.
So I bet it would be multitudes better. Certainly got my eye if they do, and I despise creative.

Probably. In terms of features anyway. For instance, the Auzentech doesn't have the front panel or break-out box and remote option like some of the Creative cards. But I personally don't need those anyway, I'm after the sound quality, not the fancy features.
For instance, the Auzentech card features a S/N ratio of 120db, easily trumping Creative's best @ 109db. The Auzentech is also using far superior DACS and OPAMPs in their design.

I was kind of hoping someone would make a sound card for PCIe slots. Mine are getting lonely and feel rather empty atm.

Heheh, I don't need much more storage space than I have now, so buying a RAID card would be useless for me.
Oh, and someone was saying about VW engine in a Toyota... and comparing it to X-Fi chip on an Auzentech card, well contemplate this: Lotus Elise with a Toyota engine inside. More powerful, faster, and yet Lotus engineers didn't make the engine themselves, but with higher quality components, they were able to get more out of it.
And also, people may hate Creative, they may have bad drivers, etc. but the X-Fi is most definately a powerful SPU. There's no denying it. No matter what company is in competition with them.

as i understand it the reason for this move is because the x-meridian7.1 already has the best feature set/ quality of sound output even compared to the x-fi with the exceptions of eax 3/4/5, hardware sound acceleration for games, and the x-fi drivers support open-al
some of the x-fis drawbacks compared to the x-meridian are:
lack of 192/24 bit 7.1 on the x-fi [x-fi = 192/24 stereo / 96/24 7.1] there is also deficiencys when it comes to spdif output on creative cards and overall lower quality of onboard sound components
so bassically take the x-meridian 7.1 remove the cmedia and add a x-fi and you get the best overall soundcard on the market. Game acceleration, more eax, open al + all of the features of the x-meridian (i just hope that auzentech makes their own driver cause the x-fi drivers are soo buggy its not even funny)
^as i understand it anyway so feel free to correct me :)
hehe yeah good point lol why is this thing still only on pci..? lol i mean i know allot of audiophiles have pci-only systems but give us up to date audiophiles some attention aye? :p

well I have not read every post here but the x-meridian>the creative x-fi in everything but gaming.. in gaming it had some issues.. this might just fix that and make it a better overall card.
I've heard about this card when reviewing the x-meridian... but I didnt want to dish out 200+$ for a sound card (x-meridian).
my card works well for me.

if someone is gaming and also uses receiver (connected digitally) then this card might render benefits over regular X-Fi (it can encode surround audio to dolby, X-fi can do the opposite).
But if it is analog connection to a generic or even a decent set from Logitech, Creative, Klipsch or Altec then regular X-Fi would be as good. Unless you have golden ears and cash to burn...
