If this should be anywhere else, please move it.

OK, so I just tried to download the latest DirectX distro, and I get a "Page cannot be displayed" when I try to download. It won't get the validation tool either. So I can't download anything from Microsoft. However, when I go downstairs to try, works fine. It's not my computer not downloading anything, every other site works fine. I'm using IE7.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

MS is using an adserver for some of it's through links (can't remember the name of it, but I had the same problem a while ago).

You'll need to disable your custom hosts file (if you have one) or turn off any ad blocking/antispyware app you have running to get to the file.

No ad-blocking or antispyware installed. Acgtually, I don't have any security installed at the minute.

Did you try d/l'ing the websetup file or the redistributable (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=b406cf67-d926-463b-99e8-27199d6626b5&DisplayLang=en)?

Both, neither work.

is this a "shared" OS for both computers?

do you have admin access?

No, each system has it's own OS. And yeah, I have full admin access.

try this site, it has the download and you don't have to go through MS to get it.
