View Full Version : files on hard drive that i cant see?

my friend has given me his pc to look at, the problem is one day he had all his music on a second hard drive then the next day it had gone, however all 80gb are still on the drive as they take up the space on the hard drive but i cant see the files, i have tried show all files and windows check disk for bad sectors and that hasnt worked?any ideas

also it doesnt have a floppy drive so i need a program that i can burn onto cd!!

you will need to use some file recovery program of some sort.

Try that, I've used it before and it seems quite effective and easy to use. Make sure you copy the missing files to another drive otherwise they will get permanently overwritten whilst restoring.

If you copied the files using his account and he has made his files private or encrypted, you will be unable to access then if you use another account, or on another PC.

problem solves i used a program called r-studios works well and recovered all the files onto a different hard drive then sent them back!

The app I recommended lets you copy files that are 'missing'.
