Hey, I'm totally new to playing games on a PC, but I just bought a computer that I *thought* would run new games. All I paid attention to was that I have 2g of ram and 512 mb graphics card. I didn't think about the processor, though. It's a Turion 64, which dxdiag is telling me is about equal to 1.8gz. So am I screwed already for new games? Or is there a way to upgrade processors?

you have a laptop right? you will be able to play this more than likely but laptops dont make good gaming machines. I think the thing that will hold you back is your graphics card it may have 512mb's but its prob a mobile 1600 or 1700 by ati, that means its less powerful than a desktop 1600 graphics card.

Bioshock will rule, the team making the game have a ton of experience and talent. I have no doubts.

no fan club here but i've been seening ONLY nvidia cards in the latest games in both minimum and recommended requirements. And probably more NVIDIA, THE WAY IT's MEANT TO BE PL@Y3D

I love how games used to be very CPU heavy... now it really doesn't matter at all what CPU you have..
I loved how you could overclock your CPU and get INSANE performance boosts in UT2k3...
Now, if you don't have the GPU, you're getting it up the rear.
WTG developers.

QFT. Cant they go 7900GT/X1950PRO? I mean seriously I've seen some dumbasses downgrade from an X1950PRO to a 7900GS, then get fked over with shitty performance in the games that werent advertised by nvidia.
Now I got everything...except for that RAM :(

I'm being neutral but don't you peeps realise most GAMES don't come with anymore recommended ATI cards? Even in STEAM, when you click Lost Planet, Just cause and some new games all recommend and minimum is nvidia cards. Don't talk about games like HL2 cause they're considered 'old' and they only ask for DX9 cards. But now even games like DMC3 asks for a nvidia card? I don't SEE Ati anywhere.
