Sooner or later camcorders with HD-DVD or Blu-Ray media were bound to exist. Hitachi is the pioneer when it comes to next-gen camcorders since it just announced the first Blu-ray video cameras in the world. Right now the company has to show us only the shell of these Blue-Ray cameras to be but later in the year we expect to see Hitachi camcorders featuring the new 8cm BD/DVD drive along with a 5.3 megapixel CMOS sensor capable of recording at full 1,920 x 1,080 resolution. The cams can record up to 7GB of MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 video on 8cm mini BD-RE/R media or 5 times less on 8cm mini DVD-RAM/RW/R discs.
