Hey guys, why dont you post us the details of your dream PC? :D
Include specs and as much detail as you like! Even if it is a server pc with 4 opterons and 16GB RAM... :rolleyes:

A laptop with 1 week battery life and a solar energy recharger built into the casing + recharges with the heat given off by cpu/gfx cards, with 2 6800 go! cards in SLI, half an inch thick, 21 inch widescreen LCD, 16x DVD-RW, floppy drive, 2 160gb SATA II NCQ 2.5inch HDD's in Raid 0, fingerprint ID security, weighs 4.2579 pounds, passive cooling, 2 dual-core Pentium-M, 4 GB ddr2 733, dual boot Windows XP and Mac OSX.

Actually I change my mind. I want 16 GB of ram in that laptop so I can install Windows XP to a ramdisk and have the solar energy charger + 1 week battery life provide electricity for it 24/7.

Okay, sorry. :p Let my rephrase. A dream machine built with AVAILABLE parts... So basically, if you had lots and lots of money to go and buy some hardware for a PC, what would it be?

Oh come on... You guys aren't fun. I'll list my "dream" parts so you know:

Dual Opteron 252's (or quad when that becomes available)
Tyan Mobo (Only one to support SLI with Opterons at the moment if I'm not mistaken :confused: )
16GB RAM
Dual GeForce 6800 Ultras in SLI
Dual Matrox G450 Multi-monitor quad display cards
One of those monitor switching thingies (if I want to play games on the 6800Ultras and not the G450's)
8x ViewSonic VP211b 21" LCD screens in a 4x2 config ;)
8x 300GB SATAII Drives in RAID 0+1 config (7200RPM)
Quad compressor cooling for GPU's and CPU's
Probably Dual 800Watt PSU's for enough power :rolleyes:
Nice full tower case with cold cathodes, 12cm fans and the works... (Use your imagination!)
And the other basics (wireless keyboard, mouse, DVD-Writers and so on)

What do you think? :D

Oh come on... You guys aren't fun.

Your rules are very restricting. Socket M2 isn't out until next year, by which time a new ATI card will be out (after R520), DDR2 RAM speeds will skyrocket, SATA Drives may hit 15,000RPM.

I'm saving up now, but under the rules of this thread I cannot post what it'll be.

& why always goin for this vgas ?! when u can choose pro ones .

or about ram - hdd(why not "dts" ) - & go on & on & on


i think it might be dream not somtin u can't buy today ! for just some minus bucks or maybe some thoughts. :rolleyes:

Or maybe I'll ask IBM to build me my own BlueGene system? (It's available! ;) )
But that is if I got more than a $million o'course. I won't even bother with Nvidia or Ati, I'll just run everything software... Hehe. I'll just have to get Windows to run on that thing (Quite impossible though. :( )
