Hi all!

Heres my latest Sale. Currently I am selling:

1x Tagan Easycon 580W PSU

I will be selling this for £50 shipped ( or best reasonable offer )
This power supply found here:
http://www.tagan.com/pages/products/easyconS/e_tg580_u15.html

This power supply came with a 3 year warrenty, and i believe it still have over 12 months left. Its a great modular supply, and EXTREMELY quiet. It ran my x1900xtx rig no sweat, and im only upgrading for future proofing for a phenom as well as my current 2900xt.

Its in perfect condition, and i have all the original packaging, cable protectors, velcro straps (never used)

1x Vantec Vortex 2 HDD cooler

I will be selling this for £15 shipped (or best reasonable offer)

This is an great hdd cooler, uses a rotary cooling system and have a variable analogue dial for speed settings.

Its reviewed here: http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews/Vantec%20Vortex%202/

Its performance is great, i managed over 10C drop in hdd drive temperature, but am selling to free up a drive slot for an extra reservoir for my upcoming watercooling setup on my 2900xt.

It does have a flickering blue illuminated light, sometimes it flickers but not all the time and doesnt effect performance in any way. hence selling it so cheap.

Hope you find something useful here for ya peeps! :)

Oh, and just to say, all sales will be via paypal or similar, and sales are final. the PSU is still within manufacturers warrenty (bless tagan) and the vantec cooler works fine and comes with all the screws necessary

hehe cheerz bud :p

well i believe im running at the limit atm, the 2900 is pushing the boundaries of this psu, i was quoted a Wattage need of 555W so im cutting it close. apart from that im getting a quad phenom at the end of the year so this psu probs wont cut it if its running near limit atm

Here's a power supply calculator:

http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp

The Pro version even takes amperage into consideration, which is every bit as important as wattage, if not more.

just so you know, those wattage things are very inaccurate :P i'll do it now with the one you linked, and give real usage of my PC

Edit: here we go

After calculating the rig in my sig @ 100% usage, this guide says 381W

At idle my system uses 224W at the wall, and 316W at full load (Orthos + 3dm06, peak)

Just so that you know, having the right connectors and a stable PSU matters a lot more than the rated wattage :)

edit2: sorry, forgot a point. This PC was ran on an OCZ powerstream 520W for a while, and when i swapped to the gameX it actually dropped 50W of power use at load. I beleive efficiency matters a lot, and these online meters are designed for a mid-range. Without knowing the effeciency of the PSU you have, its difficult to accurately guess the power draw, and therefore the reliabiltiy of the PSU. The best way is to just try it, and only when it fails or shows weakness (12V line dropping, etc) should you replace it.

it thinks my (intel) rig uses 425w, where quite obviously it uses less than mussels rig (it has 3 hard drives, but still, i'd imagine it uses less overall)

MIGHT have a buyer for you on that psu, a friend just got an 8800gts, and isnt sure whether his fsp blue storm is up to it, if so ill let you know

The real power use of PC's is surprising, if the amperage was perfectly balanced, i could run my system on a 380W PSU - but everyone would say 700W+ with a GTX in a PC.

I just sold one of those tagan U15's to a friend, its currently powering a 3.2GHz presler @ 4.0GHz, 1GB DDR2 533, x1650PRO 512MB, 2x 7,200 RPM hard drives, 1x DVD-RW, and a few lighting mods. It wasnt capable of powering my brothers system (similar to mine, only clocked higher and with a striker extreme mobo)

This is not bagging out the PSU, i beleive it quite capable of running an 8800GTS on a high end system, just that i know a GTX is pushing it.

Grings: from my testing, SATA hard drives use about 20W to turn on, and 12-15W while running :)

good luck with the sale!

thanks guys, just to let ya know mussles, with all the stuff im running, under heavy load i did see the 12V rail drop slightly, but im future proofing myself due to going quad sometime soon, and the native support for pcie2 is handy, no single wire pin mods.

the psu ran my current rig with an x1900xtx quite fine, i never had any problems, only when i upped to a 2900xt did i notice marginal 12v line drop.

But its a very good psu, modular cables r very nice :)
