It's a REALLY weird bug, been happening on my system since I installed 0.23. Can't figure out for the life of me why it's happening...
see below for why I think it's happening
Before this problem came into being, I used to get lol, make that ~110fps . Now it's only managing 16.9fps - and using 100% of my CPU and almost 100% of the KERNEL (!) just to render a bit of D3D fur. What's up here anyone?
My other 3D game still run the same as they did before... Card info: 9700 Pro (Sapphire) (Device ID 4e44, Vendor ID 1002), Catalyst Version 05.1, 2D Version 6.14.10.6505. OS: Windows 2000 SP4. Mobo: Jetway Polaris 400, running a Via KT400 chipset. Not the best, but not the worst.
Suggestions anybody?
[edit3] wtf was I on about with all that DVI stuff (if anybody read it in the 10 minutes it was posted) :D The ACTUAL cause of the problem seems to be if you have any windows with alpha transparency open, I never thought about this because I have two contacts with semi-transparent MSN Plus buttons floating on my desktop, and as soon as I opened MSN whilst running ATiTool with 3D view open, the framerate dropped right down again.
Might want to sort it out so that ATiTool either warns the user or gets rid of the transparency effects for the duration of the burn-in test / 3D view display?
