whats this physics acceleration card and why has the GTX and Ultra have 2 sli links if you cant use them is it for Quad sli

You can only use sets of 2...Either SLI or Quad Sli.

so the 3 pci-e slot is for physics acceleration card whats that

it is for the ageia cards physics processing unit it is a special hardware just for physics acceleration

the main problem will be in the memory and processing sharing.if you bypass the bios and gpu firmware

i think you can with crossfire though

Erm...there is NO Ageia PCI-E card out yet....and by the looks of things, there never will be. The only Ageia cards are PCI, so why would his board be designed for them if there are no cards available? and for that matter, I've never heard of an never heard of nVidia supporting Ageia...seen as they slated them.

Ageia themselves have stated their Physx cards don't even max out the PCI slot bandwidth, nevermind PCI-E.

thanks darknova the only thing it says on my box is 2 pci-e 16x SLI, 1 pci-e 8x for physics but why put a physics slot on the board if there no uses for it,looking at this site (http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=6789) but this is last year were are nvidia's physics cards and this is Nvidia's nForce 590 SLI chipset not the 680i chipset:confused:

It is for a third 8-series card for nVidia's physics plans. Right now it is redundant, but in future, as with ATi, they hope people will buy a third card for use in stream-processing and in-game physics.

At the moment, as I said, it is redundant.

From an ATI press release:

ATI and nVidia have been talking about it (jamming more video cards into your system) for some time now but I don't think either has produced anything yet?
