It's what I figured, and you have to have 25 posts on these boards before you can post in the for sale thread.

There is also a list of rules that go with that on your sale thread.

You are aware you can get an 8800gts 640 new for much less than you are asking?

Actually you can not get it for a lot cheaper. They don't even sell that model number. Check your sources before you state it.

And a side note, on price grabber the average price it sells for is $470.00 so my price is preety reasonable.

do you think a regular on here would trust you anyway.the whole reason you need 25 posts is so you are at least a little known on the forum.people who come here and post straight away something for sale, have no chance of selling it.

lol my point is you are not showing the card im selling. It a hard to find card

arods3

What does that have to do with him listing the wrong item from newegg. Clearly after arguing all the niddy gritty things back and forth i'll have 25 post by them :P

You also need to be a member for 14 days before you can post in the Buy/Sell forum...

Read this (http://forums.techpowerup.com/announcement.php?f=43)

And this (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=22642)

After you read that you SHOULD realize why you're getting a hard time...

Title is missing [FS]

No picture of actual part for sale is posted (with you forum name in the pic)

No heatware account referenced (or ebay account for that matter)

The rules are hear to PROTECT buyers. TPU! isn't responsible for any transactions, but the little rules help prevent FRAUD.

:toast:

PS you'll never get that much around here. Most of us KNOW our SHIT. XFX means nothing more than BFG or ASUS or any other company using the NVIDIA REFERENCE DESIGN.

I wouldn't argue with these guys over price. Go sell it on ebay....

(you're not supposed to haggle price in a [FS] thread anyway)

FYI around here you'll probably get $350 MAX, Just cuz they don't make it anymore doesn't mean people want it...

I already have it on ebay sold my first one for 415+ 25 bucks shipping. and I have it listed again

Follow the posted rules

You posted, we gave our opinion...if this had been an actual [FS] thread, some of the responses WOULD have been 'inappropriate'....

But since you didn't follow the rules.....you get what you get :p

Why would you post something in here that is already on ebay? How would that work if both ebay and TPU! wanted your card?

In the days of internet scams, fraud, and theft, we're just being careful :D

I wouldn't take it as hackling you, constructive critism i'd say....but some people can't take ANY critism, constructive or not

The THF9 is just your basic 8800GTS, nothing special about it, not even pre-overclocked.

The THE9 Mello linked to is actually a higher end model that is pre-overclocked.

What I'm thinking of doing over the next several months is, to take apart my pc which was great but two years old. Sell all the parts, then wait until the 9800 or so to come out and build one then. In the mean time I'll buy a ps3 with a 6400 insprion laptop that has everything top of the line into it to survive for several months, then i can sell the ps3, thats my plan.

Lets be honest now....

You didnt sell it for 415, it got to 405 and it didnt meet your reserve, so you relisted it.

lets not forget about these too

306 dollars and relisted
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80192&item=140148760922

345 dollars and relisted
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80192&item=140151140335

202 dollars and relisted
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=80192&item=140152003665

So lets not try to bullshit here.... you already know you are not going to get that kind of money for it and you lied about how many you sold and how much

AHAHAHHAH d44ve you're a dick lol....as in private detective

I thought it seemed fishy...glad the rules are in place...

FYI - TPU! is smarter than ebay (if you didn't figure that out already)...

Good luck anyway, I hope you find a sucker...I mean buyer

arods3
08-28-2007, 07:15 PM
It went for 405 that never met the reserve but I sold it to someone for 415 and i relisted the item because i had two others,

why are you being such a private d*ck investigator about it. Just wait and i'll have one buyer pay for it at that price because i paid more then 450

and the 202 is at 202 now. Listing has 5 days on it.

arods3
08-28-2007, 07:21 PM
and dont tell me i wont get atleast 400 for it because everyone else that has it listed it going for 460 plus shipping

08-28-2007, 08:50 PM
you realise the PS3 will drastically drop down in price?

newtekie1
08-28-2007, 08:53 PM
You aren't going to get that price here, especially when someone has already posted a link to a cheaper, yet better, version on newegg.

You might get close to that on ebay, but only idiots pay the outragous prices on ebay.

I think you'd be better off keeping the PS3 and dumpin off the laptop. Those seem to hold their value longer...

FYI you're not going to get sympathy here. We know our shit (even if you don't). Don't try to pass off a $400 video card as a $450 'hard to find' card. Especially when we can buy it for $399 from a COMPANY with a WARRANTY... (not to mention the $399 card is better than yours - Factory OC...)

I'm curious to know how you came to aquire 3 x $500 video cards and how they are still 'new in box'.
Who spends $1500 and doesn't open the package?
Who buys 3 gfx cards?

If I were you I would ignore this thread. Maybe we would stop punching giagantic holes in your arguments...

arods3
08-28-2007, 09:03 PM
Yes I know the ps3 will drop in price but if i pick it up on eBay for 520 lets say with shipping brand new. Then let's say I sell it by Jan time and I think I could at least sell it at min. $300 lets say while original prices came out on this $600 in Aug. I think $300 price drop in over 4-5 months is pretty conservative, i brob could get like 425-450 for it.

Well the problem is that the laptop I leased it through dell (which was a stupid idea since i got a great deal on it, :(.... thats a side note) so I don’t know if I should sell it. I rather play computer games on a PC then a PS3 since I like the whole mouse concept of a shoot/point scenario then using a mini/joystick.

arods3
08-28-2007, 09:08 PM
I had a few coupon codes on dell site and that’s why I bought that version, I was originally going to build a new system a few weeks ago and making it SLI, I ended up deciding to hold on a bit. I try to return it but the assholes at dell will only give me what i paid on my CC. So if the item cost me $480 and i used CC for $180 and the rest used it on a coupon for 300 they would give me back my $180 but wont credit me back a $300 since its a one time thing. So its like i got screwed by buying this when I was unsure what I was doing, Huge mistake on my behalf. This is why I am selling them now.

To get my PS3, all I did was post a wtb on craigslist for $350. I got like 5 calls! People are quick to unload PS3's right now for reasons I will not go into.

arods3
08-28-2007, 09:13 PM
Do you think sony really floped with this issue, I'm assuming its not like the mini disk player but its that bad?!?

erocker
08-28-2007, 09:37 PM
Naw... I own both the PS3 and the 360, and currently, all I play is the 360. There are just better games, and more games out for it now. Hopefully all that will change, because I would much rather be playing my PS3. It's not nearly as "cheap" as the 360.

So in short:

Xbox360 = Horribly designed, cheap hardware / lots of games, currently games run better

PS3 = No game support / Beautiful piece of hardware

Is this betamax all over again for Sony? Who knows, but just like beta I'm hanging on to mine to see who wins. Really though game support is finally starting to roll around for the PS3. Hopefully, Sony won't decide to call it quits, like manufacturers have done before ( Sega).

arods3
08-28-2007, 09:49 PM
speaking about Sega (genesis) im selling that on ebay now....but side point.

I heard they are releasing a whole bunch of new games towards the end of the year and in 2007 and on they are going to go strong with it, that’s what I heard. I have an Uncle who’s a branch manager for the Sony stores and he mentioned that to me.

360 is garbage, 100% failure rate ftw...I have both systems and play my PS3 everyday, where as my 360 with its "awesome" game library is pretty much neglected. Probably better off not playing it, then its guaranteed not to fail.
