I woke up this morning and went to turn my computer on, only to find out that nothing on the desktop was displaying (no icons, no start button, no taskbar). I hit ctrl+alt+delete and went to New Task... and tried to run explorer.exe. About 3 seconds later, I got a "Windows Explorer is Not Responding" message. I did this a few times, then decided to reboot and try to repeat the whole process, only to have the same results. If anyone has any ideas on what would cause this problem, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. the only thing I can access is the task manager

Also, I don't have access to the command prompt. The second i try running cmd.exe through task manager it just shuts down. I'm using an EVGA nForce 680i board, and I tried booting into safemode, but the same problem happens.

yeah, i was getting alot of popups the night before too. by the way, this is a brand new computer i build myself, so i dont think that the hdd is dieing, considering it had been going fine for the past 3 weeks.

just caus your computer is new doesn't mean anything. there could be faulty parts in it.
