Which ATI X19XX series, best bang for buck?

I read with a great deal of interest nearly all of the threads on the X800 series, updating bios, soldering etc. This forum has been awesome for an x800gt owner such as myself. I'm in the market for a new card. Clearly some of the x800 were better for overclocking than others and some just happened to get lucky getting the right one for whatever reason.

What is the proven x19xx series card that likes to be pushed to the limit. Which one should I look for, brand etc?

x1950pro or 1950xt if you can find one most the time they are close enough in cost...
