I cant see a $400.00 difference.
$400.00 is a lot of extra upgrade cash!!!

What a trash review.... They use an OC version to a 2900xt....
Then to top it off details about the test were not only limited, they didn't even list driver versions...

I am yet to put a machine together with a 2900xt, but I'll tell ya what....
When I get a good machine build and someone that wants a 2900xt I'll post marks and screen shots of the SAME settings and good details between the two, and I WONT use programs that are well known to have a issue with either one of the cards.
I think from a few of the reputable sources the 2900xt keeps up with a stock clocked 8800gtx, and in some games it has issues, but its cheaper, and ATI/AMD is still releasing new drivers to fix some of the performance issues with them, so we will see what is to come.
Either way right now I feel very content again with either companies cards.

I bet a clocked 2900 could of kept good pace with that card. Personally in reviews like that, I think its only fair to WC a card (in this case the 2900) benchmark it stock then clock the snot out of it, then do the same with the rival card.

I agree. These days, with so many different hardware configurations, the only way to objectively test a given piece of hardware is to just use it.
I have been "burnt" a few times in this regard.
