Hi out there,
A while ago I was messing around with installing OSX on my PC. In doing so I found out that the best bios to use on my X1600XT was the Sapphire one as it enabled Quartz extreme and Core Image. I flashed it with no problems and was able to use OSX with QE and CI. I only messed around with it for a while and then went back to XP.
I just purchased a Samsung 226BW and I couldn't get it to work with DVI. I figured I had a bad monitor and was about to return it but first tested with my 6800GT which I formerly used as my full time video card until I partially cooked it. The monitor worked fine and it reminded me about the stupid thing I did with the bios flash months ago.
Anyway, I'm calling out to anyone out there with a genuine ATI X1600XT PCI-E 256MB card to extract their bios and post it for me or e-mail it to me. I don't want to have to buy a new video card just to enable DVI.
Thanks to all who read this and if you have the card and are unsure about how to extract the bios, all you have to do is install ATI Tool and it's right in the menu.
By the way, I have looked for the bios on the internet and at TechPowerup and nobody seems to have the genuine ATI one.
Thanks again.
