i've read good things about both, but stalker sounds like a mmorpg with guns. and it's half the price.

I was really, really disappointed with Stalker. I mean the graphics are good, but not good enough to be as hard to run as it is. Also, the gameplay is just kind of bleh.

>.> i would get both, but then i can't get new ram, which i plan to do soon... but what is so great about bioshock? it sounds like bullet witch, except with a welfare crossbow made out of a ruler.
I like stalker but I never played bioshock cuz of that 5x only bs

Oh, if you're looking for PC only definitely get Stalker, that Bioshock nonsense with the installs is just dumb

I'm still playing Bioshock and so far just love it. I also loved STALKER! So, I would say get them both if you can! :p
P.S - There are already a few workarounds available for Bioshock and it's rediculous protection scheme. ;) I currently use one of them and it's working perfectly (and it's also nice not to have to keep the DVD in the drive as well).
^^
thats good to hear :)
but I dont need the DVD in for STALKER am I the only one ? Its been like that since I got the game :ohwell:

download both, try both, pick the one you like better and go buy it. I download just about every game out there, but it won't sit on my system more than a day if I don't like it.

I voted for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as I've been playing it all day and even though it has it's problems, it's still an awesome game - so freaking atmospheric. I've started it again for the 3rd or 4th time now that the 1.0004 patch has been released. It's improved it so much and with your specs you'll be able to play this game, the way it was designed.
As for Bioshock, I'd vote for that too (if I could) as it looks and sounds like it's an awesome game. Still, get S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as it's cheaper (it has multiple endings depending how you play it) and once you've had your way with that, go for Bioshock, might be cheaper by then too.

well, i got both. i was going to get stalker, then bioshock when it got cheaper, but there was only one bioshock left, and if i got it there was a deal for a second game of lesser value half off.... so, $75 dollars later i have both.

Sounds like it worked out pretty good. I voted for STALKER. Personally I thought it was really fun and it had it's creepy moments. The atmosphere is just awesome, but so is Bioshock's, even though I've only played the demo for Bioshock. =[ STALKER is just cool and there is a lot more exploring you can do that what seems like Bioshock has.
imo stalker sucked. the gameplay is what frustrated me. il vote for bioshock.

It's a bit late now on the voting now Sky. ;)
Have you tried S.T.A.L.K.E.R. with the new 1.0004 patch? It vastly improves on the performance of the game as it makes better use of multi-cored CPUs. I'd say give it another shot with all the updates installed see what you think.

The gameplay wasn't frustrating at all. The game wasn't overly hard, it was pretty easy once you got the better weapons. It's kinda slow in the beginning when you only have a pistol and a shotgun.

Stalker get Bio when it's cheaper. Stalker has dark rusty feeling to it. Loving all the bugs in Bio :). wait till later till it patched up and cheaper :).

Bioshock if you want an interesting storyline with great graphics. Stalker if you want a dull story with nice graphics.
If you have read Atlas Shrugged you will recognize some fun connections in the themes and plot of Bioshock.
