I ordered this on Sunday and it's going to be here Thursday. As most of you probably know it has green LED fans in it, I ordered a pair of 38cfm (or something around there) blue LED fans to replace the green ones that come with the PSU. The more that I think about it though, I think it would be better if I left the fans that were meant to go in there, in there. So my question is do you think I should go ahead and replace the fans with the blue ones, or just cut the leads to the LEDs on the stock green fans and leave those fans in there?

Could be problematic. Both changing the fans or just cutting the leads to the LEDs would first of all void any warranty. If you really want to do it though, I would go for the more 'silent' option. Those blue fans, what's the rated dB? If they are more quiet, I would go ahead and change the fans.

They're rated 26db 38cfm. Silence isn't really a concern for me though as my system is loud with all the fans and whatnot. I read a review that said only the rear fan on the back of the PSU is an LED fan, and I can cut that without having to open up the PSU.

good choice i have one and theyre amazing. youre right only the rear exhaust is green and i personaly wouldnt do anything to void the 5yr warranty. ive got a blue theme with my setup and the green at the back adds a little contrast (its hardly noticeable imo)

still voids the warranty.

keep the fans in it and leave it alone. this will not void your warranty and you will have no problems from it. It's really not that bad

I have it in my computer with blue fans otherwise around my case (the Aspire X-Dreamer II case @newegg-http://www.newegg.com/OldVersion/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-144-026&depa=0) and I don't notice the green light at all unless i were to peak around my computer and look at it

Well the good thing is, is that my two front fans are still the stock black ones that came with the case so I'll just use the LED fans to replace those.

I was thinking last night I might add a couple other green things to my system and kind of get a two color theme going. (Mostly green cables, maybe replace the HDD and Power LEDs in the case to green.) But we'll see what happens.]

Maybe I'll mod it in five years. Lol.

Well I got the PSU in a couple of days ago. I wasn't able to get any higher overclocks, but atleast I don't get random game crashes and random reboots anymore. :) All of my volt rails are reading about +.03 above 100% accurate, Which is fine with me.
