Hi
I try to increse the corespeed and as soon as I rech >429.9 the PC craches. There are no tempproblem (53 as in stock).
The thing is that the mouse is still moving, so the GPU must be ok? ohh and there are no artifakts.

that happens when you overclock the card too much

Happens to me when I make a type (I *tried* to set my core to 4500MHz)

My ATI X800XL AGP went to maximum with default fan

441 Core
555 Memory

PCstats.com went to the same # as me and they are mad overclockers so I ain't going farther.

I did an RMA on the card, tested all drivers there are and still bluescreens or craches.

Windows VGA drivers made sure that the card shutdown after about 2 min... With VPU recovery on it activeted almost asap as I logged in to windows...

NO more ASUS cards for me... The next will be an Sappire card (I know that Il have to change the cooler, but thats np if I dont get any bluescreens)

Asus cards are ever a lot more expensive than all other brand and most of the time, for nothing much better...

What is the default core and memory speed for the x800xl?

ATItool places the defaults core speed at 400 MHz and the memory speed at 490 Mhz, but...

PCstats.com says the stock core speed is 398 Mhz and the stock memory speed is 984 Mhz.

Is there a problem? Sorry, I don't know much about graphics cards.

nope ATI Tool is reading it correctly the Memory speed is read as Single Rate so if you multiply by 2 thats the actual DDR speed
