um so how exactly is nuclear energy renewable? i mean correct me if im wrong but in a nuclear power plant, uranium and plutonium isotopes are bombared with neutrons causing them to divide into other radioisotopes such as Cs-137 and I-131,etc. so if we're mining uranium and plutonium and then dividing it into radioisotopes, some with half lifes way over 30 years, how the hell is it renewable? i mean we cant moderate fussion and so i'd rather burn up some coal rather then divide some uranium atoms and dividing them into radioactive waste which will take forever to decay and then im doing that with the risk of fucking up the world? i mean it is estimated that chernobyl reactor 4 still contains 95% of its nuclear stuff inside, that 5% that leaked out.. look what its done

Hm, I think the parts are very adequate for my useses for a computer.

I have a fast cpu (5200+), 2GB of DDR2 533 (I will have it at DDR2 600+ by next year), and an 8500gt. Since I will be getting a great (stable) power supply for Christmas, I can push my CPU and RAM more. My 8500gt is more than adequate for what I use it for. My monitor only goes up to 1024x768, and I don't play many new games. I may or may not get COD4 for Christmas. I am also not a graphics freak, I have no problems playing a game on like med with 2x optomized af in the control panel and 2xaa. Hell, I used to play with NO aa.

I fold on my computer, SMP. That's mainly what I use it for. I currently play Quake, but that's the only game I have installed at the moment. My 8500gt totally pwnz Quake.

When I get my power supply, I wonder if my FSB will actually be 250, not fluctuating somewhere around 249.5. Erocker says weak/crappy power supplies do that. The new powe r supply is more powerful, it will be quiter (one 120mm fan), cooler (80% eff or better), it has no LED's (I run my pc all night folding, so LEDs can go f*** themselves), and I will finally have the security of having a good PSU in my box.

I hope I get a solid 250x11 and not a fluctuating value somewhere near 249.5. That also means my HT link will be at a solid 1000, it just is so much better in my book. Fluctuation = meh. I will try the 266MHz RAM divider instead of the 200MHz one. The 266MHz divider should give me just over 300MHz RAM, I'm happy with that. Oh, and it also has the 8-pin CPU power connector, this one only has 4. And one of the 3 fans in this current PSU rattle. That is annoying. Probably more annoying than this post.

The isotopes are so radioactive they generate heat, which boils water creating steam. This drives turbines, creating the energy. I think it's classed as renewable because in theory, it can be done over and over, and Plutonium/Uranium half-lifes are a looooong time. I think that, I'l need to check.

uh isn't the heat generated by the fission? how can it be done over and over when once the uranium/plutonium is divided, you're left with nuclear waste. the half lifes are long, but it takes a second for it to split into radioactive waste with long half lives. and then once you've used up the fuel rods, you go and mine more uranium and stick it in the reactor, and you cart away the nuclear waste to yucca mountain
